NEW Ferrari California 2+ Convertible

NEW Ferrari California 2+ Convertible

Its dimensions reveal that it is slightly larger than a Porsche 911, while the new, mid/front-mounted 4,300cc, V8 engine has direct fuel injection and makes 460 horsepower – some 30bhp less than the existing 4,308cc V8 F430. The California also features a new 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission, the sophisticated F1-Trac traction control system first seen on the 599GTB and a new launch control system. This doubtless helps it accelerate from 0-62mph in under 4 seconds. (A top speed figure hasn’t been released yet.) Braking is provided by Brembo as usual, but with carbon-ceramic disc material as standard. The California’s all-aluminium body has been styled by Pininfarina and generates significant downforce – 70 kilos at 124mph, according to Ferrari. The retractable hard top roof closes in 14 seconds, and when the roof is raised the boot has a 360-litre capacity, with a 260-litre capacity when lowered. There’s no official mention of pricing so far, but don’t expect very much change from £150k.
